What is a campaign

 What is a campaign

So what is a campaign. Well a essentially an organised movement of action to achieve a goal, This can be achieved in many different ways but today i'll be talking about the marketing side of it, specifically of music and film. In terms of marketing there are plenty of ways to make a successful campaign that film companies use. The point of these campaigns is to build awareness and demand for these films with anticipation overflowing by the opening weekend. This is done through multiple trailers, cast interviews, behind the scenes photos or vidocs, merchandise, billboards and social media filters. All of these are coordinated marketing strategies all part of the same campaign.

Music wise it is more or less the same with with added strategies like bts shots and Instagram pics of the studio, little samples of the song and finding out which features are going to be on the album. As well as creating awareness and anticipation for a tour. Campaigning is different between the two industries however as a record company would handle the marking aspect of a campaign differently compared to a film studio. For example a record company has to promote a tour using the name and brand of the artist in order to sell out an arena compared to a film studio trying to sell the movie to a theatre of people.
